Well, there’s nothing really great happening around me, you know, a normal high school life as asian. You go to school, you meet your sick friends, you come back from school, you do your stuff (whatever the hell it is), you do your homework, you go to bed, back to start.
But things did happen, although they are not as significant as what they are doing in Gaza right now (plz god stop), so im here to just make a post about it.
First of all, in a bizarre turn of events, i found myself owning a PS3. An 80gig model, 2 usb-port (i know, but my uncle’s giving me ps2 i think), with MGS4 with the console, and Valkyria Chronicles, which i bought the day after. I have about 2 hours on my MGS4, with just Act1 finished, while i have about 10 hours on VC already, while i am only at chapter 6. I gotta admit, SEGA did make a killer Strategy/RPG/Shooter game with VC, with cutting edge Cell-Shaded graphics which, to come to think about it, they have invented back in dreamcast days, with Jet Grind Radio. I’ll talk about the game later on, if i get the time. And Selvaria is hawt. Rock on. But one thing I can say about the game right now is if you own ps3, and looking for a deep strategy game, you really can’t go wrong with VC. You can even make up your squad full of hot chicks, all voiced in English, and thank god, also in Japanese. Harem Squad. Again, rock on. And this game is made by Skies of Arcadia devs, which again, is great.
I have started paying attention to my DS a little bit more also. While I am not playing any DS game at the moment, I am starting Pokemon Firered again, or should I say moemon, a hacked pokemon game that you will know more about if you search it up in google.
I started playing Wii again, probably about 2 months since the last time i played. Im beginning to blaze through No More Heroes, which I believe is one of the finest wii game ever made. Sure, it is not even comparable to Brawl, Galaxy, or Twilight Princess in terms of perfection, but even if it is not perfect, does not mean you cant love it. I absolutely adore the game, with its crazy combat system that doesnt really get tiresome, unique bosses and characters that are crafted so well, that every one of them should be regarded as best game characters in 2008. And the cutscenes. Where do I begin. Let’s just put it this way: the dialogues are hilarious, cutscenes are stylized, and it is pure gorefeast for those who thirst for blood. It is a game of love-hate depending on personal taste, but if you liked Killer7, or if you just wanna chop bad guys in half and decafnate 4 of them at once, this is game for you.
Im currently on-hold with Okami, and RE4, which i play from time to time, is also something that can be recommended. It seems, RE4 on wii is actually not just a half-assed port, but an enhanced port, with all the ps2 goodies in tact, with natural motion-controls. And the original game itself was just damn good, so RE4, unless they just had to go and eff it up like what they did with PC version, there is no way that it was going to be bad. And unlike PS2 and PC ports, the graphic seems to have improved from its Game Cube original, making it possibly the most definitive version of RE4. And since now I have PS3, I have the means to play RE5 also, which is great.
On PC, I deleted most of my games, except for few, since I just don’t need them sitting around taking my already-filled hard-drive. And instead of actual PC gaming, I have got myself into emulation, partly because of PS3′s Dual Shock’s compatibility as a PC game pad. PS1 games work great, where it is absolutely necessary for action games. It works great for N64 with little twick, and thankfully, all the Rare masterpiece such as GoldenEye and Perfect Dark works fairly well. Also the Sin and Punishment works great, which is awesome, since that is one of the games that I really wanted to play. GBA, NES, SNES, Neo-Geo all work great, where they really did not need it, it is great to have an alternate controller, since it will be easier to play two players then.
And… enter Dreamcast. Yes, this miserably raped SEGA console actually had surprising number of gems, starting from everyone’s favourite Soul Caliber, they also had Dead or Alive 2, Jet Grind Radio, Skies of Arcadia, Grandia 2, and of course, Shenmue and the great IKARUGA. It is ironic that in Japan, they are still making games for Dreamcast, where the production of GC games have been stopped. It was one of the Japanese games that hooked me up to DC, called Triggerheart Exelica, which, umm, you can look it up on google. It’s pretty refreshing shmup (shoot ‘em ups), in a way that it lets you fire cable onto other ships to have it on your control, then use it as shield to block the enemy fire, or just swing it around and throw it into enemy to do a double-kill. The control, it seems, are not as fluid as touhou, but it is still a enjoyable game, especially when considering that it is mecha girls.
other than that yeah im not sure if there is anything more to talk about, other than that i hate school and all the school go to hell lalalalalalala
